JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Ruby on Rails refugee. You have a couple of years of experience in web development in Java or .Net. One night, you built a small project in Rails, wanting to know what the hype was all about. It was love at first sight. Now, you loathe your day-time job and all the unnecessary complexities involved. It's time for a change.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Mandatory:
- Strong OOP skills;
- Excellent knowledge of what makes the web tick: html, css, javascript.
Must know the meaning of a shit load of buzzwords, including: REST, AJAX, Agile, Web 2.0, Mashups, JSON, XMHell, TDD, BDD, /[A-Z]DD/, RSS, long tail, Microformats, tag cloud, folksonomy, Social software, viral, syndication, wiki, beta, Ruby On Rails guru/ninja, etc ... (major plus if you invented one or plan to...)
OTHER SKILLS
- Passionate and curious;
- Excellent at problem solving;
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative in order to identify and resolve bottlenecks in the organization;
- Fun with good communication skills, comfortable working directly with clients;
- Eager to always learn and teach others;
- Pragmatic, can balance business needs with metaphysical coding questions;
