JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Ruby on Rails guru-to-be. You have built at least one small project in your spare time using Rails and fell in love. You are now aspiring to have an international career as the next rock star of ruby development. But you need someone to give you a chance.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Mandatory:
- Strong OOP skills;
- Basic understanding of what makes the web tick: html, css, javascript.
Nice to have:
- Experience with testing frameworks;
- Agile thinking;
- Know your way around some Unix shells, source management with Git and Subversion, Capistrano;
- User experience is key, you are not a designer, but you can make CSS bend to your will.
Must know the meaning of a shit load of buzzwords, including: REST, AJAX, Agile, Web 2.0, Mashups, JSON, XMHell, TDD, BDD, /[A-Z]DD/, RSS, long tail, Microformats, tag cloud, folksonomy, Social software, viral, syndication, wiki, beta, Ruby On Rails guru/ninja, etc ... (major plus if you invented one or plan to...)
OTHER SKILLS
- Passionate and curious;
- Excellent at problem solving;
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative in order to identify and resolve bottlenecks in the organization;
- Fun with good communication skills, comfortable working directly with clients;
- Eager to always learn and teach others;
